Kourou (French Guiana), August 22, 2018 – Vega, the European launcher designed, developed and constructed in Italy by Avio, has successfully concluded its first mission of 2018, correctly placing in orbit the ESA’s Aeolus satellite.

This represents Vega’s twelfth consecutive success since its first mission of February 2012. The European launcher again demonstrates its major reliability: for the first time in fact, a new launcher has had its first 12 launches without issue or anomaly.

4 GALILEO SATELLITES PUT INTO ORBIT

Colleferro, July 25, 2018 - Ariane 5 successfully undertakes its third mission of 2018, correctly positioning in orbit four satellites for Europe’s Galileo project.  

Galileo is a European satellite navigation and localization system, designed for civil use and capable of providing highly precise positioning indications. Once in orbit the entire Galileo constellation will comprise 24 operative satellites.

JAPANESE AND ENGLISH SATELLITES ARE PLACED IN ORBIT

Colleferro, 06 April 2018 - Ariane 5 has successfully completed its second mission of 2018, correctly positioning two satellites in orbit: DSN-1/Superbird-8 and HYLAS 4.

DSN-1/Superbird 8 is a telecommunications satellite for Japanese operator SKY Perfect JSAT. Equipped with high-performance relay systems, the satellite will mainly provide telecommunication services for the Japanese market.

IT IS THE SIXTH SUCCESSFUL MISSION IN 2017

Colleferro, 13 December 2017 - Another success for the Ariane 5 launcher, which has completed its sixth mission in 2017. It correctly placed into orbit four satellites of the Galileo constellation.

THE FIRST LAUNCH OF A MOROCCAN SATELLITE

Colleferro, 8 November 2017 – The eleventh consecutive mission has been successfully completed by Vega, the European launcher that was conceived, designed and built by Avio. It is an accomplishment that has further consolidated its leading international status in terms of precision and reliability.

On its third and final mission in 2017, Vega delivered into orbit the MOHAMMED VI-A Earth observation satellite, which was built for Morocco by Thales Alenia Space and Airbus.

Colleferro, 30 September 2017 - Yet another successful mission for the Ariane 5 launcher, which has completed its fifth flight in 2017, positioning into orbit two satellites: Intelsat 37e and BSAT-4a.

Intelsat 37e is the fifth satellite in the Intelsat EpicNG constellation and is an evolution of the previous EpicNG satellites. It will deliver more efficient transmission services to mobile telephone and institutional customers situated on the American, African and European continents.

Kourou (French Guiana), 2 August 2017 – The European space launcher Vega has successfully concluded its tenth mission, the second of 2017, by correctly placing into orbit OPSAT-300 and Venus, two Earth observation satellites. This event consolidates Vega’s excellent reliability in the sector of space launchers; in fact, it is the first time that a new launcher has performed its first 10 debut launches without any anomalies.

3 SUCCESSFUL LAUNCHES IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS FOR ARIANE 5

TWO TELECOMMUNICATIONS SATELLITES PLACED INTO ORBIT

Colleferro, 29 June 2017 - Another successful mission for Ariane 5, which has completed its fourth mission within 2017, positioning into orbit two more satellites: GSAT-17, built by the Indian Space Agency, and Hellas Sat 3-Inmarsat S EAN. This last mission is the 80th undertaken by Ariane 5, the third in the last 60 days.

Colleferro, 5 May 2017 – Another successful launch for Ariane 5, which successfully put two new satellites into orbit this evening, one for Brazil and another for South Korea.

Colleferro, 7 March – The Vega launcher has successfully completed its first mission in 2017 (and ninth overall), by flawlessly delivering the Sentinel 2B Earth observation satellite into orbit.

The mission lifted off from the space centre in Kourou, French Guiana, at 10:49 pm on 6 March (2:49 am on 7 March CET).
